Geek Out with Galia Aharoni

Liability Waivers
Belly Dance Geek Clubhouse Episode 64: Galia Aharoni joins us in the Clubhouse to talk about the importance of liability waivers for dance teachers.
There are many preparations that dancers make as they start the journey to becoming a teacher, learning the many facets of the dance, healthy instruction, and business skills (among other things).
Legal issues can be particularly difficult to understand and find trustworthy information on, even from mentors. But a teacher who ignores legal concerns opens their life and their business to possible legal challenges and lawsuits.
Join us in the Clubhouse with Galia Aharoni, who will explain the importance of liability waivers for teachers and the basics of what you need to cover yourself and protect your business.
You’ll learn:
- Why teachers need liability waivers
- What to cover and mistakes to avoid
- Special Considerations for home-based classes or studios
We’ll also have some discussion time, so you can ask Galia your questions.

Galia was a student of Lady Fred’s, learning her style of Tribal Fusion Improv, and danced with Fred’s troupe, Siren Syndicate. Due to travel, Galia now mostly studies belly dance online. When not working or belly dancing, Galia can be found coffee-shop hopping, reading, hanging out with other people’s dogs, and taking long walks and watching sunsets with her fiancé, Mike.
